CALL FOR ARTISTS
(Santa Barbara, Calif.) — The Atkinson Gallery will once again present its Small Images exhibition from March 8 to April 6, 2024. Inaugurated in 1985, Small Images is a juried competition featuring regional artists working in all media, the exhibition’s only constraint is size – all works must be 18 inches or smaller in every dimension.
DUE DATE/ONLINE APPLICATION:
To enter the small images competition, artwork must be submitted by Sunday, February 18, 2024, 11:59 PST via ArtCall.org. Application portal to open here on December 15th, 2023. Artists selected by the jury for the exhibition will be notified by email on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. All artworks must be delivered to the gallery by 3:00 pm (PST) on Thursday, March 7, 2024. Following the end of the exhibition all artworks must be picked up by 3:00 pm (PST) on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. The gallery is not responsible for any artworks not picked up by this date and time.
ELIGIBILITY:
Artists living and working in Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Ventura counties.
2D work must be ready to hang and no larger than 18 inches in any direction, including frame.
3D work also must be 18 inches or less in any direction, excluding pedestals.
Multi-media work must include a monitor/projection device smaller than 18 inches in any direction.
Any media.
ENTRY FEES:
$30 entry fee; each additional entry $15. Maximum of 3 entries.
$15 entry for students; each additional entry $7.50. Maximum of 3 entries. (Email a copy of your current student ID to [email protected] to receive a coupon code)

Silvia Perea, Curator of the Architecture and Design Collection, AD&A Museum.
AWARDS:
First Place Award: $1,000

The gallery is located on SBCC’s east campus in room 202 of the Humanities Building. Gallery hours are: Monday–Thursday, 11a.m.–5p.m. and Fridays, 11a.m.–3p.m. or by appointment. All gallery exhibitions and lectures are free and open to the public.
